Emergency and government
Run-flat protection for ambulance, fire and police fleets
Ambulances, fire engines and police cars run hard, loaded and at speed. A tyre failure should not turn a responder into a casualty.
What these fleets need
Control at response speed
Steering and braking retained after a blowout, so the crew reaches a safe stop.
No operational change
Standard tyres and existing suppliers stay in place. Fitted inside the wheel at tyre mounting.
A record for audit
A recorded fitment per vehicle.
Short downtime
Under an hour per vehicle at fitment.

Questions buyers ask
What does the Multiband do on an ambulance or fire engine?
It locks the tyre on the wheel rim in a puncture or blowout. The driver keeps steering and braking and can drive a medium distance at reduced speed, even with two or more tyres deflated, to a safe place to change the wheel.
Has it been tested on emergency vehicles?
Yes. A fully laden Sabre type B water tender had a controlled blowout at 60 mph (97 km/h) and stayed controllable through a tight course with no corrective action by the driver. A police van with 11 officers on board had a double front blowout, with full control maintained and no damage to either wheel rim. TÜV tested the Multiband for 3 km at 80 km/h, then 3 km at 50 km/h, through a handling course and slalom.
Which services already use it?
It is mandated for the riot vehicles of every police force in the UK. In 2021 Cumbria and Cheshire Constabulary selected it for fast pursuit vehicles, replacing run-flat tyres. In Malaysia and Singapore it is used by the operators listed on this page; references are available on request.
Do we have to change tyres or tyre suppliers?
No. The Multiband fits inside the wheel under your standard tyres when they are mounted, in under an hour per vehicle. Any tyre fitter can fit and refit it; Tyron certified workshops are recommended.
Does it need servicing, or change how the vehicle drives?
No servicing: it has no moving parts. Tyron states it has no effect on fuel consumption, acceleration or braking.
Does it work with tyre pressure sensors?
Yes. Where a sensor sits inside the wheel, a TPMS bracket is fitted around it.
What documents can procurement teams get?
The TÜV certificate and film, test records and specification sheets are supplied on request. Tender wording you can adapt is on the tender page.
What warranty comes with it?
10 years from installation, registered to the vehicle chassis number.
Every vehicle is different.
Systems depend on the vehicle, wheel and mission. Our engineers will show you how the right system works on your fleet.
