Fits almost every commercial truck
Multibands fit commercial wheels from 17.5 to 22.5 inch. That covers almost all trucks and prime movers on the road, and buses and trailers on the same wheel sizes.
Fitting adds about 5 minutes per tyre to a normal tyre change, so it can be done at your next routine tyre service. The band is taken out and refitted at each tyre change.

Questions buyers ask
Which trucks and buses can it be fitted to?
Commercial wheels from 17.5 to 22.5 inch, which covers almost all commercial trucks, plus buses and trailers on the same wheel sizes. The band weighs about 2 kg at 22.5 inch.
How long does fitting take?
It adds about 5 minutes per tyre to a normal tyre change, so it can be done at your next routine tyre service. The band is taken out and refitted at each tyre change.
Has it been tested on a heavy truck?
Yes. A 49-tonne truck had blowouts at 60 and 80 km/h and the driver stayed in control. The film is on this page and the test record is available on request.
How far can a truck drive after a blowout?
A medium distance at reduced speed, even with two or more tyres deflated, to reach somewhere safe to change the wheel. Results depend on speed, weight, the tyre, the road, the cause of deflation, temperature and the suspension, so Tyron recommends testing on your own vehicles.
Do we have to change tyre brands or suppliers?
No. The Multiband works with the tyres you already buy, fitted by your existing tyre fitter.
Does it affect fuel use or need maintenance?
It is maintenance free with no moving parts, and Tyron states it has no effect on fuel consumption, acceleration or braking.
What about buses and cash-in-transit vehicles on split rims?
Tyron R6 steel 3-piece split rim wheels are made for buses and cash-carrying vehicles and give beadlock when an ATR runflat is fitted. Buses on standard wheels use Multibands.
